Taco Time at Wellen Park

Taco Time at Wellen Park

Jamie and Tracie Albano, early entrepreneurs in Downtown Wellen Park, have steadily expanded their ventures. After launching Kind Vibes Outfitters for outdoor gear rentals and the Hydration Station for drinks, they opened Lakeside Bites at The Yard, a unique food court of repurposed shipping containers. Their latest addition, Lago Tacos, debuted on December 19 and offers a dedicated menu of Mexican favorites—street tacos, empanadas, churros, and Jarritos sodas.

The street tacos, served three per tray with brisket, chicken, or pork on flour or yellow corn tortillas, are simply topped with cilantro and onion. Jamie Albano favors the brisket, but the citrus-marinated chicken tacos have become a crowd favorite. Lago Tacos’ popularity has surged quickly, thanks to not just the flavorful food but also its affordable prices, making it a hit among locals of all ages.

We wanted a go-to spot where locals and curious visitors could get a quick, fun, and truly local take on what’s happening each week. Based right in Downtown Wellen Park and open 7 days a week, we’ve got our finger on the pulse of the community.
